After living her entire life in her chronically ill older sister’s shadow, all Korie Starling wants is to be seen. And to be a famous singer, adored by millions of fans. It would be a nice change from being ignored by everyone else. Which is why, when offered a job at a local karaoke bar, she accepts immediately. Maybe, just maybe, she'll make enough money to move out of her parents' house and start living the life she's always dreamed of.
Eugene Oh goes to KARAOKELAND, a Karaoke Bar down the street from the his parents' restaurant, for the companionship and to forget his museum of failures by indulging with his two best friends: Celine Dion and Johnny Walker. As long as he avoids Harry, the handsome, swaggering customer who stole his last girlfriend from him, he’ll be fine... right?
On Korie’s first shift at the Karaoke bar, she’s paired with Eugene, and sparks fly. Literally. To escape the fire, the two run through a door, accidentally opening a portal to another world where music is magic, Korie’s voice has power, and all eyes are on her.
Eugene is now stuck in a world where he’s mistaken for the next King in line to rule Karaokeland because he fulfuilled the prophecy of bringing music back to the world...
Korie and Eugene must work together to battle ancient forces battling for access to their world.
Oh, and save Harry, who accidentally followed them into Karaokeland...
